As previously announced by Microsoft in August 2020, along with other Microsoft 365 apps and services, Yammer will be retiring support for Internet Explorer 11 in August 2021. Customers should use the new Microsoft Edge, or another modern browser.

As announced at Ignite and MC226941 (November ’20) the new Yammer experience and capabilities will now be available to our current Yammer Desktop App users, either through the Communities App in Teams or the new Yammer Desktop experience in the form of a Progressive Web App (PWA). The new installable Yammer Desktop Application (PWA) will be released by the end of March 2021 to all customers and the Communities App in Teams is already available for all users to download. We will be retiring the current Yammer Desktop Application on June 30th, 2021.
We are pleased to announce the next phase of the new Yammer experience. In September 2020 (MC222345), we released an opt-in toggle for new Yammer for all users.
With this upcoming change, admins that have chosen the Enable the new Yammer as opt-in setting will have the new Yammer experience set as the default for all Yammer users. If your tenant is already in new Yammer as default or Enable the new Yammer for all users with no opt-out option, nothing will change for you or your users.
Yammer networks aligned to native mode currently do not allow guests. Guest support has been in public preview since December 2020 (MC229724). The feature is now moving to general availability.

Microsoft is making some changes to User Management for Yammer Networks in Native Mode. We’re changing the location where you should add, remove, or bulk update users in your Yammer Network to better reflect what is available to the rest of the Microsoft 365 Suite. Moving forward, all user management activities will happen directly in the AAD User Management Portal.
Skin tone preferences now available for users to choose from when they react using ‘like/thank’ reactions on the new Yammer.
