Microsoft 365 Message center post headings will be standardized starting May 16, 2026, affecting admins using scripts or automation based on old headings. Microsoft 365 introduces a modernized change management model with flexible release audiences (Frontier, Standard, Deferred), enhanced Message center communications, and AI-powered insights via the MCP Server. Rolling out mid-April 2026, it offers IT teams greater clarity, control, and proactive change management.

We’re adding pre-built search templates to Microsoft Purview Data Security Investigations. Templates provide pre-configured search queries for common data security scenarios, allowing investigators to scope an investigation in just a few clicks instead of manually building queries. Users select a template, provide minimal inputs (such as a user or site), and the search is configured and ready to run.

OneDrive now makes it easier to find and access your SharePoint document libraries on your iPhone and iPad. Search for libraries by name, browse an updated Libraries view with recent and alphabetical sorting, and navigate directly to the site’s default document library for ease of access. Whether you’re on the go or working remotely, you can quickly locate and open organizational content that matters to you.

We’re introducing notification capabilities and search improvements to Microsoft Purview Data Security Investigations. Investigators will receive notifications when key investigation events occur, such as when AI jobs complete or when new data is added to scope. Search improvements include enhanced query building to more easily identify potentially impacted data

Data Security Investigations now delivers proactive AI insights within the Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) experience. When DSPM identifies potential data exfiltration, DSI automatically analyzes the flagged content against risk dimensions like intellectual property, financial data, and credentials. Results are surfaced directly in DSPM, helping security teams identify sensitive data at risk before an incident occurs — and take action in DSI when deeper investigation is needed.

Starting late April 2026, Microsoft 365 Copilot will show suggested actions like summarizing and FAQ generation directly in OneDrive and SharePoint file previews. Enabled by default for eligible users, this feature respects existing permissions and policies, requiring no admin action but user awareness is recommended.

Microsoft Sentinel for Developers will have planned breaking changes to ASIM KQL functions, updating _Im_ProcessCreate to use targetusername_has instead of targetusername. Organizations should review and update queries by May 25 or later to avoid disruptions. Rollout dates will be announced later.

Azure PST Import enables Microsoft 365 admins to import PST files from Azure Blob Storage into Exchange Online mailboxes using PowerShell. The process includes endpoint creation, readiness analysis, import execution, and cleanup. It ensures compliance with existing retention policies and audit logging, with no direct user impact.
