Microsoft Edge will detect and revoke malicious sideloaded extensions.

Specify and manage SharePoint sites deemed as authoritative content to enhance their relevance and ranking in Microsoft 365 Copilot Search. In the Microsoft 365 admin center, under Copilot > Search > Authoritative content, add and manage up to 100 SharePoint sites. #copilotcontrolsystem

Microsoft 365 Copilot Researcher and Copilot Studio now offer Anthropic models (Claude Opus 4.1 and Sonnet 4) alongside OpenAI models. Admin opt-in is required, with rollout starting September 24, 2025. Anthropic models are in preview, hosted externally, and governed by Anthropic’s terms, not Microsoft’s.

Microsoft Exchange Online will enable admins to assign the SMTP.SendAsApp role to applications via App RBAC, allowing group-based or scoped mailbox access. This replaces manual per-mailbox permissions, simplifying OAuth SMTP client onboarding. Rollout begins November 2025, with no end-user impact. Prepare by planning group-based access and updating documentation.

Microsoft Teams will introduce an admin setting to hide Teams call and meeting history from the native iOS dialer, enabled by default. Rolling out from October to December 2025 across regions, admins can toggle this in the Teams admin center to enhance privacy and user experience on iPhones and iPads.

Outlook’s Events from email feature will retire legacy extraction by January 31, 2026. After that, only emails with Schema.org markup will support automatic event creation. Organizations should work with providers to adopt Schema.org for reliable calendar extraction and improved event accuracy.

Viva Engage in Teams for iOS will show related questions in real time when users type new ones, helping avoid duplicates and improve efficiency. This feature, enabled by default for tenants with the Viva Engage Knowledge Service Plan, will roll out globally from late September to early October 2025.

Microsoft Viva Glint will enable admins to create custom age and tenure derivations for tailored employee data reporting, rolling out globally from mid-October to mid-November 2025. Admins can define ranges, map source fields, and manage derivations with historical data retained even if disabled.

Microsoft Fabric will introduce a tenant setting on October 28, 2025, allowing admins to control inclusion of user identifiers in OneLake diagnostic logs. By default, End User Identifiable Information is logged, but admins can opt out for privacy and compliance. This supports security, troubleshooting, and usage analytics.
