We’re simplifying the Input Box in Copilot Chat by bringing together various user actions under the Plus menu (+). The unified Plus menu (+) will continue to allow users to add content to prompts, while also letting them access tools/agents and manage data sources used to ground Copilot.

Microsoft Teams will add an ongoing meetings indicator in channels using the threads layout, showing active meetings with details and a Join button in the channel header. Rolling out from mid-February to mid-March 2026, it requires no admin action and does not change existing meeting policies.

Microsoft Purview introduces a new Purview Agent Deployment role added to several built-in role groups, allowing analysts to deploy and manage Purview agents without admin help. Rollout starts late February 2026. No default data access changes occur; organizations can customize roles to restrict deployment if needed.

Viva Engage will introduce a new feature allowing users to hide messages from specific individuals, reducing unwanted interactions. Rolling out worldwide from late February to late March 2026, the feature is on by default but can be disabled by admins. Some roles cannot be hidden. No admin action required.

Ensure On-Premises connectors use unique certificates with domains accepted by the tenant and avoid shared IPs across tenants. Misconfigurations can disrupt mail flow due to Exchange Online’s multi-tenant nature. Use unique Send Connectors per tenant and prefer certificate-based authentication for reliable email routing.

People Skills will expand to Microsoft Teams, allowing employees to view and manage skills on the Microsoft 365 profile card within Teams. The rollout starts March 2026, enhancing collaboration without changing admin controls or data handling. No admin action is needed if People Skills is already set up.

Microsoft Teams will hide app names in the app bar by default starting late February 2026 for a cleaner look, showing only icons. Users can re-enable names via Settings. This affects all commercial tenants, requires no admin changes, and has no impact on policies or permissions.
