Microsoft Purview Communication Compliance is introducing enhancements to investigation and remediation workflows to facilitate better-informed actions on policy matches. Enhancements include bulk policy exports, interactive how-to demos, and banners displaying the keywords/conditions flagged in a policy match. These enhancements will be available to designated Communication Compliance admins and investigators with the appropriate role-based access control permissions. The rollout will begin in late March 2024 and is expected to complete by early April 2024.

Microsoft Clipchamp is introducing a new smart AI-powered feature called Silence Removal that automatically finds and deletes unwanted silences and pauses longer than 3 seconds in video and audio. The feature is currently free to use in preview and will be available as part of a premium subscription after the preview. The rollout will happen automatically by the specified date with no admin action required. Users can remove all pauses at once with a single click or review each pause and decide which to remove. The feature will begin rolling out in late March 2024 and is expected to complete by mid-July 2024.

Microsoft Teams users can now receive organizational messages to drive adoption of Teams features. The feature will be rolled out from late March 2024 to mid-April 2024. Admins can configure a templatized organizational message in the Adoption Score Meetings category in the Microsoft 365 admin center. The feature will recommend users to use interactive features during Teams meetings. No admin action is required for the rollout.

Endpoint Data Loss Prevention will restrict PII data access in Activity Explorer to users with the role of Data Classification Content Viewer. This will roll out in mid-April 2024 and will affect existing roles. No admin action is required, but users should be notified and relevant documentation updated.

Microsoft Teams will soon support blind transfers, call forwards, and calls from Auto attendant and Call queue while in survivability mode during an outage. This feature will be available worldwide by late April 2024 and will not require any changes or admin action. Learn more at the provided link.


Microsoft Purview Communication Compliance will release a feature that reduces detection-to-investigation time from 24 hours to 1 hour for Microsoft Viva Engage private messages and community conversations. This feature will help organizations detect policy violations and ensure user-level privacy. No action is needed from users to prepare for this rollout. The feature will be available for public preview from mid-March 2024 and for general availability from late April 2024. Access to the Communication Compliance solution is available in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal.

Microsoft Viva Engage will limit topic creation to unique names to prevent duplicate topics. This change will begin rolling out in late April 2024 and will affect users attempting to create duplicate topics. No action is required from admins, but users should be notified of the change.

Microsoft Outlook for Windows and web will release new flexible working hours in 2023, allowing users to set different working hours and locations for individual workdays. Additional updates will include an updated daily location menu and integration of work location with Out of Office time. The rollout will begin in late March 2024 and is expected to be completed by late August 2024. No admin action is required, but users may want to update relevant documentation.
