The October 2024 Windows security update is now available



The Microsoft Secure Score recommendation for Spam confidence level (SCL) in Microsoft Defender for Office 365 will be updated. Post-update, the recommendation will only trigger if a transport rule explicitly sets SCL to -1. The rollout will start in early November 2024 and complete by early December 2024, potentially increasing the Secure Score for some organizations. No admin action is required before the rollout.

Microsoft 365 Copilot introduces an early preview of new Graph connectors, including GitHub, Google Drive, and others, with limited availability starting from October 2024. Sign-ups for the preview are open via a form or email. These connectors allow indexing of third-party content, enhancing search capabilities across Microsoft Search clients.

Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android will soon feature a Net Promoter Score survey, allowing users to rate and comment on their likelihood to recommend Teams Rooms. This will be rolled out globally from early November to late November 2024 and in GCCH from early to mid-December 2024. The feature will be on by default but can be managed by admins.


The Revoke-SPOUserSession cmdlet for SharePoint Online is retiring in November 2024. Users should transition to using Revoke-MgUserSignInSession. The rollout starts early November and finishes by mid-November. After retirement, attempts to use the old cmdlet will result in an error directing to the new cmdlet.

This is our Preliminary PIRthat we endeavor to publish within 3 days of incident mitigation to share whatwe know so far. After our internal retrospective is completed (generally within14 days) we will publish a Final PIR with additional details/learnings.
In January 2025, Microsoft Viva Insights will discontinue the Business Leader role, maintaining Manager, Analyst, and Delegate roles. Affected users can retain access through delegation by a Manager. The “whole company” view will also be removed, but can be accessed via top leader delegation. Preparation involves assigning affected users as delegates.

The “In Development for Microsoft Intune” page has been updated with a list of features for upcoming releases, aiding in readiness and planning. Users will see these changes within the next month or later. IT staff should be informed to update user guidance accordingly.
