OneNote for Windows 10 will end support on October 14, 2025, and users should switch to OneNote for Windows. Migration guidance and support are provided, with additional OneNote team support available in October 2024. New user downloads will be restricted starting November 1, 2024.

Microsoft Teams: UDP Signaling Ports configuration change

Microsoft Teams is updating UDP signaling ports for Calling and Meetings to enhance efficiency. The source ports will change from 49152-65535 to 50070-50089, with the destination UDP port remaining at 3478. Rollout begins early October 2024. Admins should allow the new UDP source ports to the specified destination ports.

Planned maintenance for all certified and supported Teams Android Devices to Company Portal version

Automatic updates for Teams Android Devices to Company Portal version 5.0.6152.0 are planned, starting mid-October 2024 until late December 2024. Devices running older versions may be unstable after July 1, 2025. Organizations should ensure devices are updated and check Teams Admin Center for current firmware and application versions. Accelerated updates will occur outside business hours, overriding normal update timelines and maintenance windows. Devices no longer supported will not receive updates. Preparation may include manual updates or allowing automatic updates to proceed.

Specifying client ID and secret when creating an Azure ACS principal via AppRegNew.aspx will be removed

The option to specify client ID and secret when creating Azure ACS principals will be removed. Users must adopt the system-generated client ID and secret. This change will start in early October 2024 and end by early November 2024. No admin action is required for this automatic change. Azure ACS is retiring on April 2, 2026.

Planned Maintenance: Teams Q and A

EU-based organizations with Teams Q&A data in the US will have their data moved to EU datacenters starting late October 2024. During the migration, the Q&A feature will be read-only for about 4 hours, and users will be unable to create new Q&A-enabled meetings. Notifications will be sent to inform of the specific migration date and time.

Unified: Windows Autopatch and Windows Update for Business deployment service

If you manage Windows updates for your enterprise, you can do so with a single solution, Windows Autopatch. The functionality formerly known as Windows Update for Business deployment service has been woven into Windows Autopatch. A new, unified dashboard in the Microsoft Intune admin center now has four main sections: update policies, update groups, update status, and update reports. Your current license rights and functionalities under either Windows Autopatch or Windows Update for Business deployment service will remain the same. Exchange Online: Update to bulk email filtering for enhanced accuracy

Exchange Online is updating bulk email filtering for better accuracy, factoring in intermediaries and enhancing BCL scores, especially when CAUTH is set to None. Rollout begins early October 2024, with completion by late October. Admins should review logs and prepare for changes in bulk email management.

Reminder: Intune moving to support Android 10 and later for user-based management methods in October 2024

In October 2024, Intune will only support Android 10 and later for user-based management methods. Unsupported versions will not receive technical support, bug fixes, or guaranteed feature functionality. Organizations should prepare by updating helpdesk communications and configuring admin settings to warn or block users on older Android versions.
