KB5014754: Certificate-based authentication changes on Windows domain controllers


Support for the legacy services infrastructure for chat messaging in Microsoft Teams displays will end on September 30, 2024. Devices must be updated to version 1449/1.0.95.2024062804 or later to avoid disruptions. Updates can be manual or automatic, with automatic updates scheduled outside of normal business hours.

Microsoft Outlook is enhancing security by making feedback policy checks more restrictive across all user accounts. Eligibility for feedback submission will be based on the most restrictive policy value among a user’s accounts. This change will start rolling out in late September 2024 for Targeted Release and in late October 2024 for General Availability. No admin action is required before the rollout.

Microsoft is updating Microsoft Secure Score by removing a Defender for Identity recommendation to better reflect security posture. The removal will not affect Secure Scores and requires no admin action. Notification to users and documentation updates are suggested. Rollout will occur mid to late September 2024.


In mid-September 2024, Microsoft Viva Pulse admins will be able to share template links, simplifying access for users. This feature will be enabled by default, requiring no admin action prior to rollout. Organizations should inform their Pulse admins and review the impact.

Microsoft Viva Insights is updating its metrics and report pages with a new API for better performance, affecting design and content. Changes include new rounding rules for time-based metrics and a shift to a four-week average for metric reports. Rollout starts late September 2024, with completion by late October 2024. Organizations should review the impact and update documentation.



The Copilot experience for Windows is updating to include enterprise data protection at no extra cost and will be accessed via the Microsoft 365 app. Changes begin with a preview release on September 24, 2024, and a security update on October 8, 2024, for Windows 11, followed by Windows 10. Organizations should prepare by adjusting their settings and pinning the Microsoft 365 app if needed.
