90-Day Reminder: The second phase of Kerberos PAC signature validation vulnerability mitigation begins October 15, 2024

Starting October 15, 2024, the Enforced by Default phase of Kerberos PAC signature validation mitigation begins. Updates released on or after this date will move all Windows domain controllers and clients in the environment to Enforced mode, enforcing the secure behavior by default. The Enforced by Default settings can be overridden by an Administrator to revert to Compatibility mode.

How to install WMIC Feature on Demand on Windows 11

If you need to continue using Windows Management Instrumentation Command line (WMIC), learn how to install it as a Feature on Demand (FoD). It’s a temporary solution while you migrate to PowerShell or a similar tool as WMIC undergoes deprecation. A new article shows you how to check if you have WMIC as a FoD and how you can install it if you don’t. Microsoft 365 admin center: User admin and License admin roles enabled to manage self-service license requests

User and License admins will soon manage self-service license requests in the Microsoft 365 admin center, a role previously limited to Global admins. Rollout begins mid-July 2024, with completion expected by late July 2024. Admins should familiarize themselves with the licensing process in preparation.

Plan for Change: Microsoft Intune ending support for User Enrollment with Company Portal for iOS/iPadOS

Microsoft Intune will stop supporting User Enrollment with Company Portal for iOS/iPadOS after the release of iOS/iPadOS 18. Existing devices remain unaffected, but new enrollments won’t be supported. Alternatives like account driven User Enrollment or web-based device enrollment are recommended.

Microsoft Viva Engage: Update on community muting for admins

Microsoft Viva Engage will update the community muting feature for admins, affecting visibility of conversations for dynamically added members in Home Feed and digest emails. The rollout is automatic, starting and completing mid-July 2024, with no required admin action before the rollout. Users should be notified.

90-Day Reminder: Upcoming end of servicing date for some editions of Windows 11, versions 21H2 and 22H2

On October 8, 2024, Windows 11, version 21H2 (Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise editions) and Windows 11, version 22H2 (Home and Pro editions) will reach end of servicing. The upcoming October 2024 security update, to be released on October 8, 2024, will be the last update available for these editions. After this date, devices running these editions will no longer receive monthly security and preview updates containing protections from the latest security threats.

Microsoft Teams: Office 365 Connectors feature retires starting August 15, 2024

The Microsoft Teams Office 365 Connectors feature will be retired between August 15, 2024, and January 1, 2025. Users are advised to switch to the Workflows app in Teams for similar functionality. New connector creation will be blocked from August 15, 2024, and existing connectors will stop working from October 1, 2024. No admin action is required for this change. Users should be notified and directed to relevant support articles for guidance.
