LinkedIn Integration coming to Teams

For those tenants that have LinkedIn integration available to their members, we are expanding its availability to Teams as a panel in one on one conversations. This is the first part of a series of updates which will also bring LinkedIn to the contact card in the coming months.  Initially this is limited to contacts within the tenant, but as the contact card updates are released, then this will be available for all contacts within and outside the tenant.

Microsoft Teams: Virtual Visits usage report in Teams Admin Center

The Virtual Visits usage report in the Microsoft Teams admin center gives you an overview of Teams Virtual Visits activity in your organization for Global Admins and Teams Admin. Customer can view detailed activity for virtual appointments scheduled through the Bookings app and the Microsoft Teams Electronic Health Records (EHR) connector.

Third party Teams apps designed for Outlook and Office.com will now be available for users in Outlook and Office.com

To get more done without constantly changing apps, we’re making new Teams third party apps also available for users in Outlook and Office.com. Users in Targeted Release will be able to acquire and use these apps in Teams, Outlook, or Office.com.

Microsoft AutoUpdate Auxiliary Teams updates for devices running macOS devices versions below minimum

We will be making an addition to the Microsoft Teams update logic to include auxiliary updates via Microsoft AutoUpdate. This will reduce the number of devices running versions of Teams that are older or no longer supported.

You may have encountered issues where devices were running old versions of Teams that were not updating. We will be leveraging Microsoft AutoUpdate to update versions of Teams that may not have been updating due to usage patterns that do not allow the Teams built-in update logic to run its full update process.

Microsoft Teams Connect shared channels public preview

Teams Connect shared channels will be rolling out to public preview in the coming weeks. Shared channels is a new channel type, in addition to the existing standard and private channel types. Shared channels enables users to collaborate seamlessly with internal and external partners beyond the boundaries of a team.

Invite individuals or entire teams to a shared channel. These can either be from your org or from an external Azure AD org. Once added to a shared channel external users can access the channel right from their Teams account without having to switch organizations. External collaboration is off by default.
