Graph API support for new content type sync enhancements

Earlier this year (MC271079 – July), we announced the rollout of a new sync mechanism for Syntex & SharePoint content types and the subsequent phasing out of the old mechanism. Aligning with the new sync mechanism changes, we will be releasing the Graph API support for fetching and syncing published content types from content type gallery or content type hub site to target sites.

Microsoft Teams: Front row layout for Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows

We are updating a new Microsoft Teams Rooms meeting layout, designed to enhance hybrid meetings and provide in-room participants with greater context of what is happening across various aspects of the meeting. With front row, remote attendees are seen in the room at eye level and additional meeting experiences including chat, and a rostered view of participants with raised hands, are brought to the front of room screen. Users can select the front row layout from the layout chooser experience on the Teams Rooms console. It can also be set as the default layout or turned off altogether by device admins. Front row will be available for all Teams Rooms on Windows and across all display sizes.

This is rolling out on Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows.

Records Management – Configure a record label to start unlocked for user-driven records declaration

We are introducing a new capability to better manage the lifecycle of documents labeled as a record. This new feature enables Records Management administrators to create retention labels that will mark contents in SharePoint and OneDrive as records but will not be “locked” (restricted for edits) until a user manually locks it. This will help customers who use automatic or default labeling of content which includes documents in a draft state which are not yet final and will need to become a locked record until they reach this stage of their lifecycle. Beginning on January 26, 2022, customers, and individuals without global or billing admin rights can sign up for Microsoft Project or Microsoft Visio 30-day trials before directly purchasing subscriptions or engaging their IT procurement team.

Contextual Views in Message Extensions and Link-Unfurled Cards (preview)

Now in preview, this feature will enable Adaptive Card v1.4 for Message Extensions which will allow users to send refreshed, up to date cards that will update with new information.

• This will allow different information and actions to be shown depending on the particular user’s role in a chat/channel.

Create Videos on Office Mobile

Office Mobile is a content hub which houses a bunch of content types – from your favorite Word, Excel, PowerPoint to Lens, Forms, PDFs, and now very recently, Videos. In CY21Q3, we announced an update which saw Stream video player integrated inside Office Mobile. This allowed users to access and play videos on their professional network with ease, be it Teams Meetings Recordings, demos or tutorials sitting on your OneDrive for Business. This was received well by our customers, to have their videos accessible right from one Office app. Now it is time to take this one step forward – Introducing Video Creation on Office Mobile.

Queue View in Microsoft Teams Bookings app

Bookings app in Teams enables various organizations to schedule virtual appointments with external attendees and manages staff availabilities in a shared calendar experience. We are now adding a new tab (preview) to your Bookings app called Queue. Queue tab will enable schedulers to have a consolidated view of all the appointments for a day in chronological order. This new tab will bring real time updates to meeting state in a queue view for virtual visits scheduled in the Microsoft Bookings app.

This feature will roll out to Microsoft Teams Desktop and Web app. Queue tab functionality is currently not supported in Bookings web app.
