Viva Connections: Add Viva Pulse card to Viva Connections dashboard

Licensed Microsoft Viva Pulse users will soon be able to access Viva Pulse directly from the Viva Connections dashboard. Admins need to add a Viva Pulse card to the dashboard. Rollout starts early June 2024, with full availability by late June 2024. No admin action required before rollout.

Microsoft 365 for the web: Add-in device permission prompt for camera, microphone, and geolocation on Edge and Chrome

Starting May 16, 2024, Microsoft will require add-in developers to prompt users for device permissions on Edge and Chrome for the web versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. A Device Permission API will be available to facilitate this change. No admin action is required before the rollout.

Microsoft Outlook: Split view in Month view

Microsoft Teams: Shifts plugin in Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365

The Shifts plugin is now available in Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 within Teams, allowing users to inquire about team shifts and time off. Rollout starts early June 2024, completing by late June. To prepare, admins must deploy the plugin and users need to authenticate it.

Power Platform – Environment groups and environment routing general availability

Starting on May 16, 2024, Power Platform Environment groups and improvements to Default Environment Routing will become generally available. These features help administrators govern at-scale more quickly and easily through features such as Managed Environments for Power Platform.

Microsoft Teams: Auto-create Microsoft Loop workspaces to share meeting content

Microsoft Teams will soon prompt meeting organizers of recurring meetings to create a Microsoft Loop workspace for sharing and collaborating on meeting content. This feature will start rolling out in mid-May 2024 and will initially support meetings with 3-50 invitees. No admin action is required before the rollout.

Microsoft Teams: Ask to join a shared channel with a channel link

Microsoft Teams will soon allow in-tenant users to request to join a shared channel using a channel link. Channel owners can approve or deny these requests. The feature will be available for Teams for Desktop and Mac, with rollouts in mid-June 2024 for Targeted Release, late June 2024 for General Availability, and mid-July 2024 for GCC High and DoD. No admin action is required for the rollout.

Microsoft Teams Phone Mobile: New “Call my phone” feature

Teams Phone Mobile is introducing a “Call my phone” feature to transfer calls from the Teams app to a cell phone dialer seamlessly using the Audio Conferencing Subscription service. It’s for individual calls only and will be available after updates in June and July 2024. No admin action is required for the rollout.

Microsoft Purview | Data Loss Prevention: Enhanced content extraction and file type coverage for DLP on Windows devices

Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP) on Windows devices will soon support over 100 file types, detect sensitive content in metadata, PDF form fields, and files within Office files. The update, part of Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 171586, will roll out from late June to late October 2024. No policy changes are needed for existing users.
