Loop components in Microsoft OneNote

Loop components will be available in Microsoft OneNote, enhancing collaboration and productivity. Rollout for OneNote Web starts early April 2024, and for the Desktop App, early June 2024. Users can insert Loop components for real-time collaboration. Admins should update policies and documentation to prepare. Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 379968 is associated with this update.

New steps have been released to mitigate Kerberos signature validation vulnerabilities

The April 2024 security update released on April 9, 2024 addresses a security vulnerability in the Kerberos PAC Validation Protocol. New Take Action steps have been released as part of KB5037754 to prevent bypassing PAC signature validation security checks added in KB5020805: How to manage Kerberos protocol changes related to CVE-2022-37967.

Microsoft Viva | Viva Goals: Add images to check-In notes and review dashboards

Viva Goals will allow users to attach images to check-in notes and dashboard updates. This feature will be generally available in early May 2024, with no other functionality changes for users with existing permissions. Documentation will be updated before the rollout. No admin action is required.

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Lifecycle Management – Bulk replacement or removal of a retention label

Admins can perform a bulk replacement or removal of a retention label using the Purview compliance portal. They can perform the action across the entire tenant or targeted to specific content using KQL and static or adaptive scopes.

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Loss Prevention for endpoints – Archive File Support for Mac Endpoints

DLP will inspect the content of every archive file when it is created, modified, or read. On inspection, all the files (of supported file format) within the archive file will be classified and evaluated against active DLP policies. After, the archive file will get the applicable auditing/enforcement policy applied to it.

Microsoft Edge: Desktop shortcut for new Microsoft Enterprise SKU devices

New Microsoft Enterprise SKU devices will automatically have a Microsoft Edge desktop shortcut after the first Windows Out of Box Experience. This starts mid-April 2024 with Edge version 124, requiring no admin action but may necessitate user notification and documentation updates.

Microsoft Viva Engage: Delegates and admins can close conversations in Storylines and Communities

Microsoft Viva Engage will soon allow delegates and admins to close conversations in Storylines and Communities. This update, linked to Roadmap ID 382930, will roll out in early April 2024. The new feature supports psychological safety goals and includes the ability to reopen conversations. No preparation is needed for this rollout.

Microsoft Purview | New eDiscovery Hold reports

Microsoft Purview is introducing a new tenant-wide Hold report in eDiscovery (Premium), rolling out from mid-April to end of April 2024 globally, and from late May to late June 2024 for GCC, GCCH, and DoD. This report will provide information on all hold policies within eDiscovery cases. Organizations need a subscription supporting Purview eDiscovery (Premium) to access it. Microsoft Teams: Updates to sharing app content in a meeting

Microsoft Teams is introducing updates to app sharing in meetings, with a Public Developer Preview in mid-April 2024 and General Availability in mid-May 2024. New features include one-click sharing for non-collaborative apps and the ability for developers to enable sharing of specific app parts. No user education is required for the rollout.
