Microsoft Teams: Profanity filter is disabled by default for captions

We are updating the default profanity filter setting for live captions from On to Off across Teams meetings, calls, events, and Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) devices to improve accessibility and align with EU requirements. This change will only affect users who have never configured their live captions profanity filter preference. Users who have already set their preference will keep their current setting. As a result, some users may begin seeing unfiltered profanity in live captions by default after this rollout. Users can update this preference in settings at any time.

OneDrive: Improved Shared file experience on mobile

The OneDrive mobile Shared view now features a streamlined two-tab layout. The “With you” tab shows files others have shared with you, while the “By you” tab displays files you’ve shared. Quickly find shared content with new sorting options and file type filters, plus see recent sharing and editing activity at a glance.

Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Enhancing how we handle promotional mail

Microsoft Defender for Office 365 will tag promotional emails as “promotions” and can auto-move them to a Promotions folder, learning from user actions to improve sorting. Rollout begins mid-April 2026 (preview) and July 2026 (general availability) worldwide, affecting all tenants with configurable admin controls.

Microsoft Entra: Passkeys in registration campaigns update

Microsoft Entra updates Passkeys (FIDO2) support in Authentication Methods Registration Campaigns, delaying Enabled state availability and introducing Passkeys in Microsoft-managed state for eligible tenants starting mid-May 2026. Eligible tenants will see automatic campaign setting changes; no immediate action is required.

Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat: Use prepaid Copilot Credits without Pay‑As‑You‑Go billing

Starting April 20, 2026, Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat will support using prepaid Copilot Credits without Pay-As-You-Go billing. Administrators can create Copilot Credit Policies to allocate credits by department or group, managing usage from a shared prepaid pool with no automatic policy changes or impact on end users.

Queues app on Microsoft Teams mobile

The Queues app on Microsoft Teams mobile (iOS and Android) will allow calling representatives and supervisors to manage call queues, view queue details, and call history on the go. Rolling out worldwide from mid- to late May 2026, it is enabled by default for licensed Teams Phone and Teams Premium users.

Broader Windows Autopatch availability to Microsoft 365 Government Community Cloud (GCC)

Next month, Windows Autopatch will become more broadly available in Government Community Cloud (GCC). Previously, Windows Autopatch was not automatically available for Microsoft 365 G3 and G5 SKUs in GCC. It required the $0 Windows Enterprise (OLS) activation SKU. Now, the OLS SKU is no longer needed. Windows Autopatch is included automatically with:
