Microsoft Information Protection: Microsoft Purview: Exact Data Match to support multi-token corroborative evidence

Exact Data Match (EDM) will support string match detection of multi-token (i.e., fields with multiple words separated by spaces or punctuation) corroborative evidence without requiring mapping Sensitive Information Types (SITs) to multi-token corroborative evidence fields.

Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Tenant Allow Block List to Support URL Top-Level Domain Blocking

Soon, you will be able to block URLs based on their top-level domain using block entries in the Tenant Allow Block List. You can create entries in the Microsoft 365 Defender portal or PowerShell, using the format “*.<TLD>/”, where <TLD> can be any top-level domain such as .net, .biz, .io, .movie, country codes (.in, .us, .ru) etc. The entry is not case sensitive, and can be in uppercase, lowercase, or mixed.

It is applicable to customers with Exchange Online Protection, Microsoft Defender for Office plan 1 or plan 2 service plans.

Changes to the registration campaign feature in Microsoft Entra (previously Azure Active Directory)

Publicly switched telephone networks (PSTN) such as SMS and voice authentication are the weakest forms of MFA. To help your users move away from these less secure MFA methods we are introducing changes to the Microsoft managed state of the registration campaign (aka Nudge) feature in Microsoft Entra (previously Azure Active Directory).

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Endpoint Data Loss Prevention – Enhanced file type coverage for DLP on Windows endpoints

With this release, the file type coverage to scan, classify and protect sensitive content on windows endpoint devices with Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention policies will increase from current ~40 file types to 100+ file types. This release will make the coverage of file types on endpoint consistent with other locations such as Exchange, SharePoint, and OneDrive. This will also include other enhancements like detecting label from pfile, detecting sensitive content in metadata, and detecting sensitive content in PDF forms.

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Insider Risk Management- New reports page

A new reports page will be available in Insider Risk Management. The three charts available on the alerts page – including total alerts that need review, average time to resolve alerts, and alerts summary – will be moving to the new reports page.

Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies based on their own internal policies, governance, and organizational requirements. Built with privacy by design, users are pseudonymized by default, and role-based access controls and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy.

Outlook: Shared Calendar Notifications

The feature gives the ability for a user to receive notifications for changes in a calendar they have shared or have been shared with. Delegates and editors for a principal’s calendar can subscribe to notifications for certain changes to the events in the principal’s calendar. Similarly, any user who has their calendar shared out can subscribe to notifications for certain changes done to their calendar by any delegate or editor. The notifications will be triggered for create, update and delete actions to events in the calendar.
