Get started with May 2024 improvements in Windows 11

In 2023, Microsoft introduced Teams apps compatible with Outlook and the Microsoft 365 app. Starting in June 2024, Unified App Management will streamline app management across Teams, Outlook, and the Microsoft 365 app. This rollout will occur in three phases, affecting app settings and management. Details and preparation guidelines are provided, with no admin action required before the rollout.

We’ve released updates to the following update channel for Microsoft 365 Apps:

Microsoft Viva Connections news notifications will be available on Teams desktop and web, mirroring the functionality on Teams mobile. Users can adjust notification settings at the app and individual levels. The rollout begins early June 2024, with no admin action required. For more information, users can visit the Viva Connections mobile News notifications page.

OneDrive for Business is simplifying web URLs for easier navigation, rolling out mid-June to mid-July 2024. The new format will be “tenant-my.sharepoint.com” with no impact on existing scenarios. Redirects from old URLs will function, and no preparation is needed from users, though user training may be updated. Automation and scripts remain unaffected. Future improvements are planned without a specified timeline.

Starting on May 28, 2024, the public preview for Delete application users and View platform application users will be made available in the Power Platform admin center (PPAC).

You can change the sound of your notifications to help you stay focused, prioritize quickly and avoid distractions. You can as well make urgent notifications and priority contact notifications more prominent. You can also mute notification sounds when you are busy or in a meeting.
