Access files offline in mobile

The Teams mobile app now allows you to access files even when you are offline or in bad network conditions. Simply select the files you need access to, and Teams will keep a downloaded version to use in your mobile app. This is rolling out on the Teams Android App.

Whiteboard storage changing to OneDrive for Business

Microsoft Whiteboard—the collaborative canvas in Microsoft 365—is being rebuilt to integrate seamlessly across the suite, so you can create, share, discover, and manage whiteboards as easily as any Office document.

Workbook Link Support Enabled in Excel for the web

Delighting our customers with faster, smoother, and frictionless experiences in Excel for the web is an uncompromised goal across the Excel team. With this in mind, we recently added Workbook Link Support to Excel for the Web, to help customers quickly launch and edit their Excel documents.

In response to customer feedback, this represents another significant step toward quickly opening Excel files and editing them with less interruption in the process. This communication is meant to highlight the changes our customers are asking for, and to reaffirm our commitment and ongoing investment in Excel for the web rich end user experiences.

New Azure AD built-in roles – Knowledge Admin, Knowledge Manager and Exchange Recipient Admin

We have created 3 new built-in roles in Azure AD for you to manage Microsoft Viva Topics and Exchange Online admin settings.

  • Knowledge Admin – Users in this role have full access to all knowledge, learning and intelligent features settings in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
  • Knowledge Manager – Users in this role can create and manage content, like topics and acronyms. These users are primarily responsible for the quality and structure of knowledge.
  • Exchange Recipient Admin – Users with this role have read access to recipients and write access to the attributes of those recipients in Exchange Online.

Sending from a Proxy Address (Outlook on the Web)

We’re excited to announce that Outlook on the web will natively support the ability to choose a proxy (alias) address from a drop-down list right within the compose pane. When the mail is received by a recipient, the FROM and REPLY TO will show that alias, regardless of where the recipient’s mailbox happens to live.

Admins can install Apps in Meetings

We are enabling IT admins to select Teams apps that can be installed in meetings for their organization. It will leverage the App setup policies, Installed apps section in which admins can specify the apps to install on behalf of their users.

This is rolling out to Microsoft Teams desktop, web and mobile.

PowerPoint Live: Present to Teams from PowerPoint for Windows

This new feature release will bring the PowerPoint Live in Teams entry point into PowerPoint for Windows. Clicking the Present in Teams button in PowerPoint will be the only step you need to take to present the deck in your Teams meeting.
