These issues are common in environments that rely on Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr) and Group Policy Objects (GPO). When this happens, you can use PowerShell detection and remediation scripts to easily rectify the problem. Changes to Windows Boot Manager revocations for Secure Boot, effective July 9, 2024

User settings usability improved with a new “Account” settings category in Outlook on the web

Outlook on the web has a new “Account” settings category for improved usability. Settings like Automatic replies, Email signatures, Categories, Mobile devices, and Storage have been moved to this category. Rollout begins late August 2024 for Targeted Release and late September 2024 for General Availability. Organizations may need to update training and documentation.

Retired Feature: Policy Health (Preview)

The Policy Health (Preview) feature in Microsoft Intune will be retired on September 16th, 2024, affecting IT admins’ visibility into conflicting policies for Windows Autopatch. No action is required, but assistance is available through the Microsoft Intune admin center.

Protect against security risks and NPS connection failures that affect RADIUS server environments

A security risk exists in the Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) protocol. MD5 collision problems affect User Datagram Protocol or UDP-based RADIUS traffic over the internet. Data packets are at risk of forgery or changes to them during transit. To learn more, see KB5040268.

Plan for Change: Intune moving to support iOS/iPadOS 16 and higher later this year

Microsoft Intune will soon require iOS/iPadOS 16 or higher after the release of iOS/iPadOS 18. Organizations managing iOS/iPadOS devices should check Intune reporting to identify affected devices and users, and use Intune controls to manage OS versions. Apple User Enrollment with Company Portal support is ending.

Take action: Enable multifactor authentication for your tenant before October 15, 2024

Enable multifactor authentication (MFA) for your tenant by October 15, 2024, to access Microsoft Azure portal, Microsoft Entra admin center, and Microsoft Intune admin center. Set up MFA early or apply to postpone the enforcement date if necessary. Without MFA, admin access will be restricted.

DNS hardening changes in the August 2024 security update may cause timeout errors for outdated domain configurations

After installing the Windows August 2024 security update, DNS Server Security hardening changes to address CVE-2024-37968 may result in SERVFAIL or timeout errors for DNS query requests. These errors may occur if the domain configurations are out of date.
