The May 2024 Windows non-security preview update is now available



OneDrive for Business is simplifying web URLs for easier navigation, rolling out mid-June to mid-July 2024. The new format will be “tenant-my.sharepoint.com” with no impact on existing scenarios. Redirects from old URLs will function, and no preparation is needed from users, though user training may be updated. Automation and scripts remain unaffected. Future improvements are planned without a specified timeline.





The message details the upcoming rollout of app centric management for Microsoft Teams, which will allow admins to control app installations for users, groups, or the entire organization. It will replace ‘Installed apps’ in the Teams admin center and will be implemented in four phases starting mid-July 2024. The message also includes a link to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap and instructions for preparation.

The classic Exchange admin center is retired, and the “View Another Mailbox” feature is now in the modern EAC, which admins can access. Full retirement will be in mid-June 2024, and organizations should update training and documentation accordingly.

Microsoft Teams introduces a new meeting option allowing organizers to control who can admit participants from the lobby. This update provides two choices: only organizers and co-organizers, or including presenters. The feature will roll out in July 2024, with no specific action required for implementation.
