Windows 10, version 21H2 (Editions: Enterprise & Education) has reached end of servicing – June 11, 2024

As of June 11, 2024, Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise editions of Windows 10, version 21H2 have reached end of servicing. The June 2024 security update, released on June 11, 2024, is the last update available for this version. After this date, devices running this version will no longer receive monthly security and preview updates containing protections from the latest security threats.

Microsoft Teams: Change Teams Meeting add-in to install in a new directory

The message details a change in the installation directory for the Teams Meeting add-in to prevent file removal during classic Teams uninstallation. It is available now, with no admin action required unless manually installing the add-in. Admins should update documentation accordingly.

Change coming to the format of IP addresses containing IPV4 embedded in IPV6 addresses within token claims

The format of IP addresses embedded in IPV6 within token claims is changing, impacting the ‘ipaddr’ claim in JWTs. Organizations using custom applications that depend on the string format of this claim need to update their code. The change takes effect on July 8th, 2024. No action is required if there’s no dependency on the string format.

Changes coming to the Azure Update Delivery service tag

If you use the Azure Update Delivery service tag to scan for Windows updates at your organization, get ready for change. Azure Firewall service tags are collections of IP addresses and ranges associated with a named resource. The Azure Update Delivery tag is being deprecated starting July 1, 2024. Instead, we recommend using Azure Firewall application rules. Read a new article that provides further context and next steps for various scenarios.

Microsoft Teams: Updated developer tools to share content from Teams apps to chats, channels, and meetings

Microsoft Teams is updating developer tools to enable sharing content from Teams apps to chats, channels, and meetings. The rollout, starting early June 2024, will combine Share-in-Meeting controls with Share to Teams dialog, introduce Present Now feature, and enhance future meeting content sharing. No admin action is required before the rollout.

Microsoft Defender for Identity: “Honeytoken was queried via SAM-R alert” retires June 30, 2024

The “Honeytoken was queried via SAM-R” feature in Microsoft Defender for Identity will retire on June 30, 2024. Users should use advanced hunting queries for custom detection. After retirement, alerts for honeytoken queries using SAM-R protocol will stop. Users need to prepare by adapting to the recommended query method.
