Coming soon for Microsoft Teams: A new Mic volume indicator on the user bar in Teams meetings. This feature will provide users with real-time visual feedback on their audio levels in the meeting, eliminating the need to ask, “Can you hear me?” This feature is designed to minimize interruptions as well as enhance user confidence and meeting effectiveness.
This feature applies to Teams on Windows desktop and Mac desktop.
Before this rollout, the Microsoft Teams bookable desk capabilities supported booking at a desk pool level (also known as workspaces in Microsoft Exchange). After this rollout, users can book individual desks when they plug in to a shared desk peripheral. This rollout will also support other scenarios for individual desks, such as confirming a reservation if a user has booked in advance and notifying a user that a space is reserved for someone else.
This feature is available for Teams desktop on Windows and Mac and requires a Teams Premium license.

Microsoft Purview is introducing a feature to restrict pasting sensitive content into browsers on macOS devices, complementing existing Windows device policies. The Public Preview begins late February 2025, with General Availability starting early April 2025. No admin action is required for this update. Roadmap ID: 476073.
Microsoft Purview’s Endpoint DLP will soon allow full file evidence collection from macOS devices, automatically copying files that match DLP policies to Azure storage. Clipchamp’s integration with Copilot Visual Creator allows users to generate videos from typed prompts, sourcing from Microsoft 365’s stock media. Videos are saved in OneDrive and can be edited in Clipchamp. The feature rolls out from mid-February to mid-March 2025 and is available with Microsoft 365 Copilot plan. Users can control access and provide feedback within the app.
Microsoft Viva Insights will enhance Microsoft 365 Copilot’s adoption insights by adding usage intensity and retention metrics to the Copilot Dashboard. This update, which does not require a Copilot license to view, will roll out in late January 2025 and will be available by default. Admins and leaders can measure usage frequency and consistency with new visual tools and cards. Existing admin controls will be respected post-update. No admin action is needed before the rollout.
