Users can now schedule meetings directly from chat or by clicking “Schedule with Copilot” in the UI. Simply ask Copilot to schedule a meeting with colleagues, and it will find available times, book rooms, draft agendas, and send invites—all within the chat experience. This feature is available to users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license.
We are updating private channels to use a shared mailbox, similar to shared channels, instead of messages being stored in each user’s mailbox. With this change, compliance policies set for the team’s Microsoft 365 group will apply to private channels messages going forward. In addition, teams will support more than 30 private channels, up to the 1000 total channel limit for the team. Private channel member limits will increase from 250 to 5000. You will also be able to schedule meetings in private channels.
Enhancing the Engage Events experience with additional capabilities such as Broadcast for large scale produced events, Meetings based Events. Organizers will have additional support for moderating the posted questions and conversations, and attendees can post questions anonymously. An Events Landing page allows for attendees and organizers to have one place for the contiguous events experience of “Before”, “During” and “After”
We’re excited to announce that MODIS (Microsoft Organizational Data Ingestion System) is now available in the GCC-Moderate (GCC-M) environment! MODIS provides a secure, compliant, and scalable platform for ingesting organizational data into Microsoft 365. With this release, government cloud customers can now leverage the same powerful data ingestion capabilities previously available only in commercial environments.
We’re enhancing Activity Explorer to provide greater visibility into sensitive data flagged in Exchange Online. Previously, only the message body was viewable, which limited insight into flagged content. With this update, admins will be able to preview email attachments directly within Activity Explorer—without needing to download the email.
With this release, the file type coverage to scan, classify and protect sensitive content on Mac devices with Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention policies will increase from current ~40 file types to 100+ file types. This release will make the coverage of file types on endpoint consistent with other locations such as Exchange, SharePoint and OneDrive.
The Sway Windows desktop app will be retired on June 1, 2026. Users should transition to the web version at sway.cloud.microsoft, which retains all features and content. Admins should update documentation and inform helpdesk staff; no admin changes or compliance issues are expected.
Intune’s February release adds two new Managed Home Screen RBAC permissions—TemporarilySuspendManagedHomeScreen and RestoreManagedHomeScreen—to the School Administrator and Help Desk Operator roles, enhancing Android device management. No admin action is needed, but reviewing role assignments and updating documentation is recommended.
A new Slack to Microsoft Teams migration tool will roll out from December 2025 to March 2026, allowing admins to migrate Slack channel content into Teams channels via the Microsoft admin center. It requires no opt-in, supports channel content initially, and needs no pre-rollout action.
The Pro Management portal’s Shared space insights page will add two new analytics tiles showing Teams Rooms utilization and people count by room size and capacity. Rolling out worldwide from January 2025 to February 2026, this feature requires Teams Rooms Pro licenses and accurate room capacity data.
