Tenant Default Change – Workspace Admins Will Be Allowed to Enable Monitoring

Starting March 23, 2026, the tenant setting allowing Workspace Admins to enable monitoring in Microsoft Fabric will be enabled by default. Monitoring is not auto-enabled; Workspace Admins decide to activate it, providing logs and metrics access while maintaining existing governance and security controls.

Follow‑up on Required Custom Domain Configuration for Teams Event Email Templates

Teams Premium organizations using custom HTML templates for Teams Events emails must reference a verified custom domain in Microsoft 365 to ensure delivery and prevent spoofing. Enforcement began January 31, 2026. Default templates are unaffected. Verify domains and update templates accordingly to avoid disruptions.

Microsoft Teams: New controls for quick views in the chat list

Microsoft Teams will introduce new controls in March-April 2026 allowing users to customize quick views in chat and channel lists, showing them only when messages exist. These controls require no admin action, apply to Windows, Mac, and web, and improve focus by managing visibility and behavior of quick views.

Search feedback experience update: Legacy Search

The legacy Search & Intelligence Feedback portal is retired, consolidating Microsoft Search feedback into the Microsoft 365 Product feedback experience. Microsoft Defender for Office 365 quarantine content read permission update

Microsoft Defender for Office 365 will introduce a new permission for viewing quarantined email content via Defender XDR Unified RBAC, rolling out late March to mid-April 2026. Admins need this permission to access message content; others see metadata only. Existing eligible admins will be auto-assigned this permission.

Microsoft Rewards: Retirement of Azure AD Account Linking

Microsoft is retiring the Azure AD Account Linking feature for Microsoft Rewards by March 19, 2026. Users can no longer link work accounts to earn Rewards points. Existing points remain unaffected, personal accounts work as usual, and no admin actions are required.
