Based on customer feedback we’re taking some time to improve the content of the Briefing emails from Microsoft Viva to be more personalized for each recipient. We will pause sending these emails in early 2023 and will share an updated Briefing email roadmap later in 2023.

Microsoft Viva: Briefing and Digest emails for GCC-H

The daily Briefing email and the semi-monthly Digest email, automatically delivered to your Outlook inbox, will be available for GCC-H. The daily Briefing email is a personalized, actionable email from Microsoft Viva to help you start the day on track and stay on top of tasks. Twice a month, you’ll also receive a Digest email that summarizes data about your work patterns and ways to improve them.

Yammer: Improvements to @mentioning behavior

Yammer will soon have an improved @mentioning behavior available. Users will be able to @mention someone just using their first name/last name/or any other permutation.

Visio: Visio personal app in Microsoft Teams

Visio will be available as a personal app, or private workspace, in Microsoft Teams. With a private workspace, users will be able to view and edit Visio files in a central location without leaving Teams. When using the Teams desktop app, users will be able to use the Pop out app option to open Visio in a separate window, allowing users to continue using Teams chat, call, collaboration, and meeting capabilities.

Fixing timestamp format in Teams meeting Transcripts files

We will be rolling out a fix to update the timestamp format in .docx and .vtt Teams meeting transcript files to follow the WebVTT timestamp standard. More specifically, the current timestamp, for example, 0:0:0.0 –> 0:0:1.890, will be updated to 00:00:0.0 –> 00:00:1.890 after this fix gets rolled out.

Note: If your organization does not have a dependency on the timestamp of .docx or .vtt transcript files you can safely disregard this message.

Microsoft Teams: Mention Everyone in chat

Similar to how users mention individuals in chat, users will now have the option for “Everyone” within their options for mentions. After typing @, users will see the same people results they see today, but a new option, “Everyone” will be available. By selecting Everyone and sending the message, a notification will be sent to all users in the group chat based on their selected notification settings. Users can adjust how they are notified within their Teams notification settings.

The forensic evidence capability is an opt-in add-in to Insider Risk Management, helping customers’ security teams get visual insights into potentially risky user actions that might lead to a data security incident. Forensic evidence is off by default and policy creation requires dual authorization. Customers determine what triggers the feature and manage investigation processes. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent?insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations.?Insider Risk Management enables customers to?create policies to manage security and compliance.
