SharePoint eSignature: Coming soon to Australia Pacific

SharePoint eSignature, a service for requesting eSignatures on documents, is expanding to Australia Pacific. Previously available in the US, UK, Canada, and Europe, it will be included in SharePoint Online. Rollout began in November 2024 and will end by January 2024. Preparation involves enabling the feature in SharePoint Premium.

Support for .FBX and .SKP three-dimensional file formats in Microsoft 365 apps will retire

Microsoft 365 apps will retire support for .FBX and .SKP file formats on March 1, 2025, due to security concerns. Users must convert these files externally after this date. Existing inserted 3D models will remain unaffected. No admin action is required.

Microsoft Teams: Automatic association of BYOD rooms and peripherals

Microsoft Teams will soon automate the association of peripherals to BYOD rooms using meeting room invite data, enhancing user experience with features like auto-selection of audio/video devices and shared display mode. Rollout begins mid-January 2025 for Targeted Release and late January for General Availability. No admin action is required before rollout, but it’s recommended to review room inventory and encourage users to book rooms and plug in peripherals. Microsoft 365 network connectivity test tool supports Microsoft 365 Copilot public preview

The Microsoft 365 network connectivity test tool will soon support Microsoft 365 Copilot in Public Preview, allowing testing of network connectivity, WebSocket enablement, and latency. It will be available from early to mid-December 2024 and can be accessed from dedicated URLs, including on mobile devices. The rollout will be automatic, with no admin action required beforehand.

Update to Get-CsDialPlan, Get-CsOnlineUser, and Get-CsUserPolicyAssignment cmdlet in the Teams PowerShell Module

Starting January 2025, the Get-CsDialPlan cmdlet will be deprecated, along with the DialPlan attribute from Get-CsOnlineUser and LocationProfile attribute from Get-CsUserPolicyAssignment. Organizations using Microsoft Teams Phone services should prepare for these changes, which require no admin action but may necessitate updates to documentation and automations.

Update to Get-CsPhoneNumberAssignment

The Get-CsPhoneNumberAssignment cmdlet’s page size limit is being updated to a maximum of 1,000 numbers per query. Starting January 6, 2025, requests exceeding this limit will result in an error. Organizations should adjust their requests accordingly to avoid issues.
