Power Platform – Update to Add-CustomConnectorToPolicy data loss prevention (DLP) PowerShell cmdlet

We recently announced changes to our data loss prevention (DLP) policies (MC231184). As part of this change, the Powershell cmdlet Add-CustomConnectorToPolicy would no longer support the addition of custom connectors to tenant level policies. Additionally, we announced that custom connectors added to tenant level policies would not be shown on the data loss prevention page (DLP UI) in the Power Platform admin center.

Outlook on the web – New search in compose mode

This release makes it easier to add files and notes from OneDrive and SharePoint, when composing an email message. Users will now get suggestions for files and notes when they type “/” in an email message.

  • Users will only get suggestions for files they have access to in OneDrive or SharePoint.
  • Users will only get suggestions for notes they’ve previously created.

Updates to Yammer User Management

Microsoft is making some changes to User Management for Yammer Networks in Native Mode. We’re changing the location where you should add, remove, or bulk update users in your Yammer Network to better reflect what is available to the rest of the Microsoft 365 Suite. Moving forward, all user management activities will happen directly in the AAD User Management Portal.

Updates coming to SharePoint Site usage report

We are making some updates to the SharePoint usage report within the Microsoft 365 admin center.

  • In phase one, we are adding eight new metrics to the SharePoint usage report.
  • In phase two, we are incorporating two of these new metrics – anonymous link count and company link count – into the definitions for active sites and active files. Thus the number of active sites and active files recorded in the usage report may change. We will also backfill the report with 180 days of data.

SharePoint spaces to be available by default in New menu

SharePoint spaces allows the creation and sharing of immersive or browser-based mixed reality environments using assets such as 3D models, 360° images and videos, and 2D content such as videos, images, and office documents. In October 2020 (MC224942), SharePoint spaces became generally available.

We are now including spaces in the site level +New menu by default.

Option to create all meetings online in Outlook for Windows

Outlook for Windows users will soon be able to choose to have all their meetings set as online meetings when their organization uses Teams as their online meeting provider. This feature is already available in Outlook on the web and Outlook for iOS and Android (MC213856, May 2020) as well as Outlook for Mac.

Microsoft Teams: Profile menu update, relocating profile menu links to a new menu in the title bar

Access to Settings, Zoom Controls, Keyboard Shortcuts, About, and Check for Updates is moving from the Me Menu to a new menu in the title bar. The Me Menu will be focused on account management, where users can switch to another account or tenant through the first level of the Me Menu. The following links will be moved out of the Me Menu into a new menu in the title bar:

  • Zoom Controls
  • Keyboard Shortcuts
  • About
  • Check for updates
