As previously communicated, (MC220490 – August 17th, 2020), Microsoft 365 apps and services have been focusing their efforts on modern browser support over the last year. As of today, August 17, 2021, Microsoft 365 apps and services no longer support Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) and users may have a degraded experience, or be unable to connect to, those apps and services from IE11. These apps and services will phase out over weeks and months to help ensure a smooth end of support, with each app and service phasing out on independent schedules.

Updates to Spam Confidence Level within EmailEvents table in Advanced Hunting

We will be changing the named values under Spam confidence levels from the existing set (Not Spam, Moderate, Skipped, High) to Normal and High. This change is applicable to the field ConfidenceLevel within Email Events. There will be no change made to the Column Name or how data is represented. The only change is around the named values, that will align to the new values Normal and High, whenever a Spam ThreatType is detected.

Final Reminder: Adjusting Version Retention for Outlook Data Files (PST File Type) on One Drive and SharePoint

As communicated in MC256835 (May ’21), starting August 16th 2021 the service will retain 30 days worth of versions for any PST files stored OneDrive for Business and SharePoint Online team site document libraries. This change will prevent cases of previous versions of PST files quickly consuming available storage. The change will only impact previous versions of PST files stored in your document library storage.

As best practice PST files should not be uploaded on OneDrive for Business and SharePoint Online team site document libraries due to the impact on storage and network bandwidth. When PST files are uploaded on OneDrive for Business and SharePoint Online team site document libraries, Outlook updates PST files generating multiple versions which leads to storage being quickly consumed by the multiple versions of the PST file.
