Microsoft Outlook: Support pop-up messages in Outlook that warn, justify, or block emails being sent with sensitivity labels

Outlook desktop native sensitivity labeling will support oversharing pop-up dialogue as AIP plug-in to warn, justify or block email being sent. Admin could use the Microsoft Purview compliance portal to define the oversharing pop-up DLP rules(Roadmap 100157) to group of users. If users has the configured DLP rule trigger when they click send, a warn/justify/block pop up message will show up to make sure customer could comply admin’s security double check requirements. As the first stage, Outlook desktop will only support these Pop-up message for DLP rule regarding sending emails to external with specific email and attachment labels. More DLP condition support will come later.

Microsoft Outlook: Labeling email from attachments’ label

Outlook desktop will match the highest sensitivity label from attachments on email. Admin could configure this either use the cmdlet set-labelpolicy advanced setting or use the Compliance portal to configure the label policy(Roadmap: 100158). Customer will see automatically or recommendations that email gets the higher label from attachments’ label.

Microsoft Viva: Topics in Teams Channels

Earlier this year, we rolled out new Viva Topics integrations with Microsoft Teams. To widen the reach of Topics into the areas team members work, Viva Topics will expand from chats in Teams to channels in Teams, allowing users to mention topics and see topic cards within a given channel.

This addition to the Teams integration will make the Topics experience more intuitive and approachable, allowing you to interact with topics in the spaces you are used to collaborating with team members.

Conditional Access Improvements for the Microsoft Lists App for Android

We recently announced the launch of the Microsoft Lists app for Android. The app was launched with App Protection Policy (APP, also known as MAM) and its support for the Require app protection policy grant control. We are happy to share that Microsoft Lists will now also supports the Conditional Access (CA) grant control, Require approved client app, like other Microsoft 365 apps, such as SharePoint.

Note: The app is currently available to members of organizations that have an Office 365 or Microsoft 365 commercial subscription that includes SharePoint. You will need to sign in with your OrgID (Azure Active Directory credentials).

Microsoft Viva: Topics action cards in Viva Connections

Starting in November 2022, Viva Topics will have two different action cards that can be used on the Viva Connections Dashboard. One is a discover card that can be used to explore topics and knowledge areas across the company for people who could be interested in learning more or contributing to a topic. Topics and knowledge areas are dynamically displayed in the card based on your interests, current projects, and expertise.

Microsoft Purview | eDiscovery (Premium) Collections enhancement – Collect to Export

Now admins will be able to directly export a report or results of a Collection without adding to review set first. This will streamline processes for organizations who require ability to conduct analysis on item reports of relevant content and those who need to quickly get data from Microsoft 365 into the hands of audit or regulators.

Outlook: S/MIME sensitivity label support natively on Outlook for Windows

Outlook for Windows will support S/MIME (Secure/Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions) sign and encryption as sensitivity label outcome. Admins can define the label to have S/MIME sign, encryption, or both and emails with those labels will enforce S/MIME accordingly.
